This lovely cottage in Oxfordshire needed a garden design to create some garden borders to add interest to the garden. The garden design is a cottage style garden.

It was a pleasure to work with the hens and ducks that roamed free. They followed us round jumped in the holes we dug and generally entertained us.

We did plant slightly larger plants to ensure the ducks and chickens didn’t eat them.

We have created all year round interest with evergreen shrubs such as Choisya White Dazzler, Daphne odora aumarginata and Ceonothus var repens. Hydrangea Annabelle is a beautiful decidous shrub and provides interest from summer through the winter.

The garden design included plants for shady areas, such as Hellebores, Ferns and Sarcocca confusa. It also had sunny areas that are perfect for Roses, Phlox, Nepeta and Iris to name a few.

It’s always a treat to select a clients plants from local wholesale nurseries one of which was Babylon Plants. I often feel like a child in a sweetie shop.
